My most meaningful achievement has not been a singular event. I feel that I achieve something meaningful when I've assisted someone in their journey; whether it's words of encouragement, lending a helping hand, or even just being a good listener. Life is comprised of many achievements, both large and small. Every little bit helps.
The greatest lesson that I have learned is that you have the power to leave a situation or a mindset and start over each day. We are given a fresh start every day and our past does not define our current.
When I was 10 years old, an elderly man approached my brother and I. He had a gleam in his eye and it felt like he was speaking to my soul. Even at my young age, I really connected to the advice he freely gave. He said, "Fear is the worst thing and it can stop you in your life. Do not fear change. Do not live with fear or doubt. If you feel the fear of something, acknowledge it, but go forward anyway."
The future is created by what we do today. I love the quote, "Do something today that your future self will thank you for."
Life is about living authentically and building and nurturing relationships. It's about connecting to others and helping others. It's about growing and developing your well being. Life is meant to be lived and it's a constant journey of learning. It's an exciting ride!
